Global Schoolroom is a site by and for teachers. The goal is to enable educators who want to deeply engage in global issues with their students by pooling our resources of assignment ideas, project ideas, and other classroom materials. This site was created for sharing and collaboration.
So if some of the resource pages look a little bare, please offer something to share!
The notice board at the center of the homepage is a place where teachers anywhere in the world can directly communicate with each other and plan collaborative activities, projects, or assignments.
Members of the site are also authors. This means once a teacher joins, they can share their materials and ideas to the appropriate pages.
Once you are added, you will have the ability to access all the features of the site. This means you can post here or on the Facebook page, and find other educators interested in having their students discuss, or work with, yours on issues related to globalization. Joining also gives teachers access to our assignment ideas, links to useful websites, readings for your students, and so on.
If there is a philosophy behind this website, it is the assumption that teachers know how to teach without being told what content is best for their students. What most teachers lack is time and resources. Global Classroom is intended to be a helpful tool.
